Thai Inspired Cabbage Rolls Recipe
Dinner, Thai

Serves 12 rolls

  • Cabbage Rolls:
  • 12 Savoy cabbage leaves
  • 1 lb ground chicken or turkey
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil or olive oil
  • 1 small onion, small dice
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, chopped
  • ½ tsp chili flakes
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Dipping Sauce:
  • ¼ cup gluten free soya sauce
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tsp chili garlic sauce

  • Bring a large pot of water to boil. Peel leaves off cabbage and blanch in water until cooked, about 3 minutes. Remove and plunge into and ice bath or lay out in a single layer to cool. Cut out the spine of the cabbage. (This makes it easier to roll).
  • Heat large sauté pan and add oil. Add onion and sauté 2 minutes. Add garlic and ginger along with ground meat. Continually break apart the meat as it cooks. Add salt, pepper and chili flakes to taste.
  • Taste test the filling before you start rolling so you may adjust the seasoning as necessary.
  • Place approximately 1 tbsp of filling onto the leaf and roll by bringing the sides in as you roll. Place all in a casserole dish and cover with foil. Heat in oven just until heated though and serve with dipping sauce.
  • Mix all dipping sauce ingredients together in a bowl.
